Post Relationship Trauma

DEFINITION: Post relationship trauma has many dimensions including the fear of coming in contact with the former BPD relationship partner. This fear is rooted mostly in fears of rejection, fear of devaluations, fears of being replaced, or fears of humiliation. Relationships with a BPD partner are often characterized by greatly exaggerrated adornment in the beginning of the realtionship followed by greatly exaggerated devaluation at the end of the relationship. These dynamics can significantly damaged the self esteem and self worth of partner without BPD - moreso for the partner that becomes transformed by the adornment or attaches their self worth to it .
