That is amazing good news! I live in Evanston and would love to join the support group and would love to bring my two kids with me. Can you let me know when and where?

I'm checking with one other resource to see if there is one in existence - I'll post here when I find out. If not, I think it would be a good idea.

There are SO many of us... certainly there must be some kind of community support groups formed?
Does anyone know of any? Or something that's even close that would help?

I also checked meetup.com and found close to 40 groups when I searched the keywords Borderline Personality Disorder. Some are for Nons, some for pwBPD, and some for more general but related issues.
I haven't gone to any of these groups, but I have joined other meetup.com groups and attended meetings and have found some to be excellent. I think the meetup.com concept can really work well.

Does anyone know if there is a support group for significant other with BPD in the central NJ area? I think I probably should attend if there is one. Thanks.

I don't know of a BPD support group in NJ, but I do know of spiritual lectures, Al-anon, etc. in Central/South Jersey to deal with issues like enabling, codependency, etc. I can send you links for those if you are interested.

My wife has bpd/npd and I have two great kids. I want to try to work it out, but daily abuse is so hard to handle... I just need to get into a suppot group to deal with the abuse.

I want to try to work it out, but daily abuse is so hard to handle. Abuse is hard for everyone to handle... including your two young children. It will have a huge impact on their emotional development. It would be wise to check into getting therapy for you and your children. Is this possible? xoxox

yeah.. i probably need therapy to deal with her abuse. My kids are too young to realize mom's manipulative languages and methods, so therapy probably won't help at this stage. The things that kill me inside is knowing that what she is saying and doing will no doubt traumatize my kids. I tried to explain to her. For example, tonight she went on the kick about lying how I block her from spending time with my kids (right in front of my kids) ... she often tell lies with such conviction that I am just so shocked how would anyone do it so effortlessly. I started to understand this when I read a book titled "sociopath next door" and finally came to accepting the idea that my wife is a BPD/NPD... only then everything started to make sense. It took me 4 years to get here... so much resistance on my part. I started to see the grotesque lack of empathy after my father passed away and that just confused the hect out of me .. here is this person that I dated and married for 13 years... where have I been? Did I fall asleep for all these years and never picked it up that she is a NPD? I guess I learned that there is this charming seductive phase in a relationship that the NPD puts out... but still now looking back, there were clues left everywhere and I opted to overlooked them, probably because I just did not know what they were.

TARA has some groups that meet in NYC. Not sure how close you are to that area, but it could be worth checking out http://www.tara4bpd.org/dyn/index.php

Pou, Search on www.meetup.com. There are a few groups there in central NJ and surrounding areas. I didn't see one strictly for nons, but there is at least one that includes pwBPD and their families.
