So NAMI has a local affiliate group in my area.  Was not aware of that until I stumbled upon an advertisement about a walk for mental illness that they are doing this Saturday.

As I read over their page and what types of services and things they offer I was pleasantly surprised to find a number of resources that they offer would be great for ME!

Groups and meetings on "Parents of Children with Behavioral Disorders"  "Loved Ones of those suffering from a mental illness"  etc.

I'm pretty excited.  And it's free so that's always a bonus...

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, but I want to start a local support group for loved ones of pwBPD and I'm not sure how to go about it.  Any ideas?

Hi all,
I may have posted this earlier - if so - sorry.  (I don't remember doing so...but...)
Anyways, does anyone have any experience with DBT skills courses in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area?  We've found centers in SF, Oakland, San Jose, and Berkeley but have not been able to find many reviews, barring one mildly negative review of the SF center on Yelp.

hiker_reader,

See the prior posts about meetup.com.  It seems like a very good way to start a group.  All the structure is there for you to access.  Good luck with it.

Never mind...Found the St. Louis NAMI group...but no mention of Borderline.

Starting a support group on Meet-up might be the way for me to go...thanks for this post!

Not even sure if this is the right place to post this, if not I'm sorry. Just curious if anyone on here has eer tried or is interested in getting together locally. I'm near Wichita KS (doubt if there are many near me in here). I love this board and it is full of great people. I just thought maybe some in person support/venting/validation might be helpful.

Have you tried the Google custom search box visible on every page? It searches a select set of Internet pages with some directory information on hotlines etc..
