Think About It.... It is very important to talk to children about anger, about what they see in the world, and to evaluate the effects of the behavior they observe. Otherwise, their observations become the lesson itself.~ Jane Middelton-Moz, Ph.D., LCSW, Ultimate Guide to Transforming Anger

So here it is in nutshell:
Bpd niece is not letting us see her son, who we have been very close to. She is afraid that her very verbal four year old son will tell her boy friend that his aunt or grandparents babysat for him, and then the boyfriend will pick up and leave her (because of his hate for the family, which she has instilled in him) and she will be alone, decompensate, not be able to function. In any case what is so tough, is the sadness I am walking around with. I feel like someone died. I upped my" happy "pills, and it has helped a little, but this is really rough especially on my sister and myself. I still have faith that we are in a waiting game here , and it some point something will happen to change things, but right now I feel as if this boyfriend could behave as poorly as he wants and she will never leave. I'm sure some of you members out there have been through similar situations. I would love to hear some similar stories. I'm feeling alone and really depressed

Yehudis,
I just wanted to say I feel very sad for you and your sister and the child you are not able to see.  I am fortunate that no childern are involved in my BPD dd's situation, but many on this board are living every day situations like this and I hope they can share their experiences so you will not feel so alone.

Yes, this can be a very difficult road, lonely as well, but it certainly helps having others, who truly understand what you are experiencing.
I hope you can take care of yourself and that your sister can do the same.  Simple pleasures to soothe yourself.  Maybe a nice walk or a delicious meal to relieve the sadness for a while.
Pulling for you and your sister and parents,
Reality
