my uBPDw sent me a nice text.

"Thank you for being kind to me even though you have not walked an inch in my shoes"

That does not erase the hurt I am feeling much of the time but it makes me know that my patience means something to her.

Wanted to share something good

So glad to hear!

Yet, what you write about the hurt is a big issue.

Why would you get hurt from someone who doesn't even realize what they are doing? If you realize that your wife has BPD, which means her brain works very differently than mine and yours, than you have to stop taking to heart.

There is no reason in the world for you to get hurt by her words. Most times she doesn't mean it, or she doesn't even know what she feels. Emotionally, she is a 3 years old. Would you get insulted from your 3 years old? No. So don't get insulted now.

You have to learn - not to hide your emotions but not to take to heart.

Oh, and still be kind to her. After all, she suffers much more than you do. And you would never want to feel what she feels. It's real hell.
