I am posting after a while. My wife, who I suspect has BPD (based on discussing with my psychologist, she has moderate to high symptoms of BPD) is going thru a good phase right now. I joined this forum a month back when she was in a big emotional mess. I had also approached a psychologist as well.

I have been able to stay firm and not get bothered by her rage episodes. for example: I have said No to certain situations when previously I used to say yes to.  I am going out with friends on my own a bit more often and while she has exhibited abandonment fears I have stayed with my plans and communicated why I had to go out.

The biggest episode which I still need to see is when I let my kids speak to my parents. That hasn't happened because of schedules but this has been the case which might trigger the biggest rage from her. I hope to do that in a week or so.

Welcome back, pocan  Welcome

I'm glad that things have been going better for you lately... .

The biggest episode which I still need to see is when I let my kids speak to my parents. That hasn't happened because of schedules but this has been the case which might trigger the biggest rage from her. I hope to do that in a week or so.

Hmmmm... .Why would your kids speaking to your parents cause your wife to rage?

Has that happened a lot in the past?

How old are your kids? How long have you been married? Do your parents live nearby? Do you see them often, when the schedules allow? Is it because of the Holidays that you expect an eruption with your wife, related to your kids interacting with your parents? What about her parents? Does that mix of kids and grandparents cause you any troubles with your wife?

Just curious
