Every day is a gift. Live it fully

« on: January 20, 2015, 01:35:17 PM »

I've allowed this person to suck my energy away today. She won the game. It's so exhausting to have a person with BPD around, and on a conscious level I understand it's my choice to let her affect my peace and life. But on a practical level she still manages to do it.

I'm making a choice right now not to let her do it. My peace is mine. I don't give her power over that.

It takes a strong person. Even when my H is being wonderful and nice, I am still on edge.

This requires us to be happy in the face of any mood.

Yeah. I am clinging to my father's attitude:  "Emotions is such an entertainment. Safety, health and well-being of every person must come first. If you need to suffer from emotions  - find a comfortable safe place, choose a good timing when emotions do not interfere with serious issues, then take your time and suffer. "

It's a great attitude, when dealing with someone with emotional regulation issues.

Like with any "entertainment", if you have energy, time and desire for a little "emotional entertainment" - get involved. If not - step out.

After all, you would not ride the real roller-coaster or do water-skiing if you are down with fever, or if you are having an important business meeting.
