Every time I text him about our daughter he is rude and degrading, so I texted him back today and said I am not going to be put down anymore and all future communication will be via email. His responded was " ya go ahead keep attempting to make communication harder, threatening me isn't the answer, but do what makes YOU feel better, I am here for DAUGHTER."

Do. Or do not. There is no try.

You're setting a boundary in that you want to reduce the conflict. Boundaries are about "us" and not controlling the other person. He can put you down all he wants, you just are not going to participate in it anymore.

Push back is pretty normal.

This from the guy who won't write in a journal I pass to him every exchange, and asks me if I wrote in it last exchange so he knows what's going on.I have written in it every day since September, what she eats, sleeps, poops, first time rolling over, etc. Ugh its just so frustrating. My mom who babysits even writes in the journal, so that we are communicating with him.

It is frustrating the hypocrisy sometimes.

Its good that you're letting him know what's going on with her, it can only benefit your daughter that you continue to tell him her routines.

Why isn't he writing in it? Just to be difficult?
