Hi Journey27,
I am sorry that you are going through such a difficult time. I understand how frustrating and hurtful it is to cope with isolation, jealousy, constant attention, and controlling behavior.
It is a step in the right direction that your person with BPD (pwBPD) is seeking help for his issues. It can be a long process for diagnosing a personality disorder. How long has your pwBPD been in therapy?
Take a look at the lessons on the right side of this page. They are a primer for improving a relationship with a pwBPD. The lessons are a valuable resources that will help you get started with improving your relationship.
It is great that you are getting counseling for yourself. It is important to take care of yourself. Therapy has really helped me. Before seeing my psychologist, I would become truly affected by my bf's behaviors. Coping with his erratic emotions was a daunting task and I tended to forget about my own needs. Therapy has really helped me focus on my needs first before my bf's. Sharing my story really helped me. Perhaps you can share more of your story?
Looking forward to reading your response.
