It's been 12 hours. I walked and left him in a small resort town with nothing (he has a parasitic lifestyle and lived off me & social assistance). I'm too scared to go back and get him. I'm with my kids. But the guilt is overwhelming.

So, how did this turn out? Has he contacted you? Did you remain no contact? Things must have been pretty extreme for you to take the measures you did.

Was there a fight that instigated your decision? Were you guys on vacation?

Guilt is great. It's a pretty good indicator that you did the right thing and finally thought of YOU and the kids. It's also known as self-preservation, and is essential.

Be strong, friend.

Yes, we were on vacation. It was like someone flipped a switch and he snapped. The kids and I were shocked. I kept staring at my feet trying to figure out what to do. This made him angrier and said I was ignoring him. He tried to leave with all my money, cards and car. Threw things around. I have a few bruises from being held, I think, but calling the police calmed him enough to get our things and get out. His phone was one of the things he threw so when he finds a phone to call from he calls 15+ times. I end up turning the phone off. I haven't heard from him in a few hours now.
