Don't know where to turn at this point. I married a BPD woman with an MBA who gets good jobs but quits in less than 3 years. We have moved 3 times in the last 8 years and know we are living in another state. We have a 7 year old daughter than I love dearly and I am concern that my daughter will never have a stable life. MY finances have been hurt by all of the moving. We brought a house three years ago. We like the home. My wife recently texted me that she is quitting her job again. I am at the end of rope and now know that she is not capable of keeping a job. I know I cannot afford to pay all of the bills and mortgage. The house is in her name and I know she may have to hit rock bottom to get help. My only concern at this point is our daughter and what to do about this. I cannot take anymore. I pray for her to get better but she is determined to not keep a job. We could lose everything because of her BPD! Any words of advice would help!

owonem,

That's a lot of pressure to put on your family when one income earner acts irresponsibly, or checks out of her responsibilities. What's going on here do you think? Conflicts with co-workers? Depression? (Could be both.)

What does she tell you is the rationale in her mind for job-hopping and quitting? Is she at all open to getting help?

It's natural for people to leave jobs... .but usually when they have another lined up. Sometimes you can take a nice little month-long break between switching jobs, especially if you've been sensible and have savings.

It's a different matter when you quit out of the blue. It's difficult, because you can't demand she stays in a job if she is unhappy. As Turkish said, what is the reason for job changes? Is it always quite sudden and without consultation?
