He came to see our son today.

He's a totally new person, I don't know if it's cause the lovey dovey actions are gone or he was just completely nervous visiting our child.

Whatever it is In my head I was like (who are you?) in seeing a stranger trying to be your friend kind a way.

Detached.

As he plays with our son, I couldn't help thinking how I felt I had a stranger in my house.

If I had to describe it, it would be like the very first time you meet someone, but in your house. A sales rep that went of topic.

I couldn't believe he was once someone I missed dearly. Someone I wanted everything with (even if we didn't fall In love we have/had great potential to be great friends) and now strangers with only a kid in common.

Dontknow88,

Your detaching sounds like a good thing to me; although sad!  I look forward to the day I feel the same way about my exuBPD.

Did you work out something legal about visitation?

LilMe,

Hey, yeah it is sad, but I guess that's how it's suppose to be.

No nothing legal, although I do have a plan for every possible situation if things get out of hand.

For now he understands that he isn't well and trusts that I'm making good decisions benefitting our child.

I have talked to lawyers and got a lot of good advice for my situation. But yes most likely sometime in the near future I will have to set up something legal. For I know this won't last forever and I honestly don't have the emotional strength for it anymore

Can I ask how long was it since you had seen him/he had seen your son?

It’s been 4 months now since my ex has seen me and our son and I wonder what it would be like if we now reunited for visitation.

Please feel free to look st my other posts.

When he visit that was the first time in 3.5 months. He (his dad) acted like we never been a couple. Just friends. At the same time he simply seemed like a stranger. Freaked out when the baby cried and thanked me for being a good mom and just walked out/went home.
