What is this?
Think About It... Acceptance doesn't mean you approve; it doesn't mean you're happy about something; it doesn't mean you won't work to change the situation or your response to it, but it does mean that you acknowledge reality as it is--with all its sadness, humor, irony, and gifts--at a particular point in time...~ Freda B. My stepchild is 18 and diagnosed BPD. There was a change of guardianship over a year ago but we are still liable for stepchild's insurance and support. Stepchild moved out of the guardian's house 2 months after moving in but they refuse to provide the proof. So we're still paying support and insurance.

Stepchild discovered that my insurance covers kids until they are 25 regardless of student status. Stepchild then promptly posted online that they would take it as far as they could.

It burns me up that the courts are so blind to this. We tried to bring this up last March after stepchild dropped out of school. Nope. No proof. The guardians and stepchild's other parent and stepparent all got up and testified that stepchild lived with the guardians. Liars.

Sorry to vent. I just had to get it out. Thanks.

Do you want proof?  The USPS is a registered governmental agency and usually postal records will hold up in court.

Rent a PO Box.?  Use the PO Box as your return address. Send a registered, return receipt required letter to the Step's guardian's address.?  Pay for forwarding as well.

If the guardian signs for it, then proof is Step child lives there.

If it is forwarded to another address, you'll have proof step no longer is at the guardian's address.
