How are BPDFamily Databases Better than a Google Search?

BPDFamily databases are constructed from member selected resources, not robotic web crawlers. Our databases are smaller, smarter, and on-point for specific member needs. You can search deeper into these resource pages than you can in a broad Google search. And using the
SEARCH WITHIN RESULTS function at the bottom of each search page allows you to search just the sites you googled. Often this is a better, faster, less cluttered way to start your research. BPDFamily currently has four (4) databases.

Search by subject (e.g., Drugs, Gaslighting, DEARMAN, etc.)

BPD INFORMATION DATABASE: A searchable database of 750 web pages of specific information for individuals and families involved in BPD relationships to assist their journey through discovery, and self analysis. These sites have been pre-reviewed. This database includes information from, for example, the institutions Mayo, Harvard, National Institute of Health; researchers Kernberg, Schmideberg, Linehan, Gunderson; therapists Heller, Carver, Melton, Oldham, and a 5 year pub-med search. Compare it to Google or Yahoos general databases.

Search by state and then subject (e.g., Texas shared custody schedule)

STATE DIVORCE & CUSTODY INFORMATION: We have a searchable database of 250 web pages of specific information for individuals and families involved in high conflict divorce, custody battles, parallel parents, etc. assist their journey through discovery, and self analysis. These sites have been pre-reviewed. This database includes information includes a wealth of state specific information.

Search for local live support phone numbers (enter area code, or state, or and state/county)

LOCAL LIVE SUPPORT CENTERS: There are many local live resources that can help you with support and information - from physical abuse crisis centers to suicide/depression councelors.

We encourage members to take their own suicidal ideation seriously. Many in a BP relationship are depressed at one time or another. Suicidal ideation is not uncommon in clinical depression. The Journal of the American Medical Association has reported that 95% of all suicides occur at the peak of a depressive episode.

Often, there is a progression over time from harmless ideations all the way to the act. The earlier a person is intercepted in this progression, the more likely harm can be averted. < More >

Important - Please Read

There are thousands of pages of information on BPD in the public domain; some are excellent, some are misleading, some are inaccurate. There are many struggling individuals journaling/searching on-line as part of their own recovery. All of this work is well intentioned, but not all is accurate or right for you. We urge you to consider your author's background - look at the bio's and prior work - read with a very careful eye - and be sure to use a broad portfolio of resources in the formulation of your life plans.

Scientific papers, consensus articles from professionals, pop psychology / self help books, fellow sufferers / group think - they are not the same - always consider the source!
