Title: never made a big enough deal of bd and anniversaries
Post by: Scott44 on February 18, 2013, 03:46:28 PM
I think that the important thing is to be good to one's partner EVERYDAY (and maybe do something special on bds and anniversaries).  But I never seemed to be able to make these special days SPECIAL ENOUGH for my DBPD ex wife.  Just like my giving and giving on regular days was never enough.  Anybody with a similar experience?

OMG... .  Absolutely!  Nothing I ever did was enough. It's a sickness that goes along with the fantasies of the perfect love object, big house, Car, Hollywood life that they perceive as being real.

Delusions of grandeur you might say.

I think you'll find this is a nearly universal experience among people who were involved with pwBPD! (And then the inverse, of course, where you never appreciated their efforts for you on holidays/birthdays enough to please them and make them feel gratified.)
