Title: New here
Post by: Carebear11 on July 08, 2015, 11:32:10 PM
Hi there. I'm here because my husband and I have primary custody of my two beautiful stepdaughters, ages 8 and 3. His exwife and there mother is an extremely angry, manipulative and vindictive BPD and there is no end to the drama and psychological pain she generates. I'm trying hard to limit the impact of that drama for the sake of both my marriage and the children (DH and I also have a 1 yr old son together) by not letting her games and gaslighting get to me but it is tough. Hoping for some advice and support from others in similar situations, thanks.

Hi Carebear11,

*welcome*

There are many wonderful step moms here (heroes in my book) who can offer support and guidance. As a start, take a look at the lessons to the right of the board.

What's the custody schedule like, and what do you see are your biggest struggles with your dear step daughters and their mom?

Hi Carebear11,

Joining Turkish in welcoming you to the site! You're in the right place with lots of other people who understand what it's like to have someone with BPD in your life. Coparenting with a BPD parent is no walk in the park. Is the ex diagnosed BPD? It sounds like her mother may also be BPD?

How are the kids doing? What are the behaviors that give you the most concern?

These are tough relationships, and it really does help to know you're not alone. I hope you'll let us know how you're doing and share more when you feel comfortable.
