Title: Things are coming into focus
Post by: Floralies on September 23, 2020, 08:10:39 AM
Hello,

I am a 48 yr old Mom of 2 teen girls. My mother passed away in May. She had BPD. Only since her passing have I been able to dip my toe into my childhood and past. It is honestly terrifying. I am fully away that I can not do this alone. I would like sort through my past so that I can undo patterns that hold me back as a parent, wife and person and also so that I can spend some time trying to figure out who I am. I thank you in advance for you support. I am here to offer you support too in any way that I can.  Peace and Love xxx

Hey there, Floralies. Welcome to BPDFamily. I wanted to say welcome to the party, but that would just be inappropriate.

I’m sorry about your mom passing away. I’m sure it’s been hard in ways that most people have no idea about. That’s the thing about these situations. They’re lonely. Nobody understands. At least not the people that we wish could understand.

Is it hard to have the closure that you want? Don’t be afraid of your childhood. It’s over. I understand what you mean. Perhaps your mom passing away has allowed you to look at your past without an interruption. It’s quiet now. You’re allowed to and you should. Just make sure that you’re in charge of yourself. The emotions can become very strong for a while.

Are you comfortable in sharing what happened to you as a child?
