Title: Hi, I’m Shellfish
Post by: Shellfish on January 17, 2021, 06:02:27 PM
Hi everyone. New here and looking for general support and connection to mitigate the feelings of sadness and isolation. I’ve been dealing with mental illness in one family member or another for most of my life, and I’m t-i-r-e-d. Most difficult is my mother who has a bipolar I dx and features of BPD and who depends on me for too much, my sister who’s had addiction/significant mental health problems for 25 yrs, and my young adult child who exhibits symptoms of BPD/narcissism/addiction. So...there you go :)

I am sure you also noticed the board for those with parents and/or siblings with BPD.   You will find others there as well who can relate to your situation and will likely be able to pass on some good information and strategies for dealing with things like this.

Do you want to tell us some more about your child?

We look forward to conversing with you!

Hi Shellfish
Just read your post and gosh t-i-r-e-d is just how I am feeling too - and also have a number of people needing support.

It might be just a bad day - but I do find myself struggling to keep a positive approach to things as I get older and things just keep on keeping on being the same: same challenges each day; same rollercoaster ride; same effort to not respond to abuse and same going round in circles.

I know that soon - perhaps tomorrow - I might have some energy again - hope so. In the meantime it was helpful to know there is someone out there feeling just as I do!

Take care.
