Title: I need some basic tips for a guy who is getting defensive when BPD episode sta
Post by: ILAC4LMBG on March 25, 2020, 09:25:26 PM
Hi all

Can someone please help me with tips and basic knowledge on how to tackle a BPD episode? or keep in mind when partner is having a BPD episode?
I am new to BPD illness  and i don't know a lot about it.
We love each other and there is nothing I wouldn't do to make things more comfortable for my partner and myself.
She suffers so much the poor thing and I am not helping when I get defensive in a argument.
Please point me in the right direction regarding information on the basics and support groups.

Thank you..

Hi Ilac!

I understand it being hard not to get defensive. Everything says to not take it personal with a BPD but sometimes it's hard not to.

There is a ton of great information on this site to gain understanding! Look in the tool bar and you will find great info. I also recommend reading the book "Stop walking on eggshells" by Paul Mason and Randy Kreger. You can even listen to an audio book of it for free on YouTube. That's what I did. On top of that, keep posting on here. People on here completely understand and are very helpful! We've all been there! Good luck!
