Title: Songs that help you detach yourself from your expwBPD
Post by: Driver on February 04, 2016, 11:47:55 AM
Hello everyone,

Lately I have been posting several new topics and I hope this is ok, but I just feel I want to help as much as I can around. All the energy I used to have I tried to use it to help my exBPDgf who was threatening me to commit suicide and what not. I was emptied of all vital energy at some point. Now that I feel the energy coming back, i'd like to use it to help those who are going through the same difficulties in life.

Hereby I'd like to open a thread in which everyone could share songs with lyrics that we feel help us to stand up on our own feet after our devastating break-up with our expwBPD and above all try to maintain NC to heal.

Here's one such songs that help me, what are yours?

If anybody likes death metal, I would recommend checking out "Leechmaster" by Fear Factory. Looking at the lyrics, I swear he was talking about a BPD ex.

Cry me a river by Justin Timberlake for those that were cheated on

Also "what goes around comes around " also by him

Great lyrics to hand her if she ever calls again. ... or should I say text her

I just can't wrap my head around the cheating

Sorry. I vented.

Silence.

I'm an avid music listener (I literally listen to music over 12 hours a day), but now music has so many emotional triggers I hardly listen to it anymore.

We went to a lot of concerts together.  I completely avoid listening to the artists we saw together.  It has the ability to bring me to my damn knees.

However, it's getting better.  Slowly starting to listen to more and more music again so I guess I'm healing

I remember this phase. The Every Song Is About Us phase. (Even terrible songs that I hated.) It was awful. Like a scab I ripped off over and over, because I listened anyhow--even to the songs that we'd passed back and forth like secret messages. I could not stand to listen to talk radio! It had to be music. People talking about current events or weather or whatever else just seemed unendurably banal.

But that passed.

This is one I mentioned elsewhere that just kind of stands for everything at this point. I remember that I had it in the tape deck the first time I let him drive my car.

I know I'm doing better, because I can read these poems again without losing it.

DMX 'slippin'

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gt4D6RIKbMM

DMX has a codependent personality i assume due to the addiction problems he has had in the past. I listen to this song when i'm feelin kind of down because it reassures me that other people do go through this. And he pulls himself out of it and 'gets back on his feet so he can tear sh!t up'  really emotional song... the videos cool too, it shows dmx in a chamber with a bunch of hands sticking out of the walls trying to grab him and bring him down but he dodges them
