Title: PD support groups
Post by: mccarthyhome3 on January 02, 2013, 07:16:06 PM
There are all kinds of support groups in my area for mood disorders... .  why not PD's? (maybe cuz i'm living with one) but the PD's seem even more awful... .  so I don't understand... .  are they called something else or are they just not recognized as much... i mean I love coming here but it would be nice to oo sit somewhere and pow wow, ya know

maybe it's because most of us are co-dependent?

we help others to support groups instead of setting one up for ourselves

maybe we're a bit ashamed, don't want to explain to our pwBPD we're going to a group to discuss them?

Al-Anon (sister org of the AA) is officially support for those living with alcoholics, but it casts a wider net so I've heard. you might start out there.

Hey McCarthy!

Check with your local chapter of NAMI (National Association of the Mentally Ill). They may be able to point you in the right direction.

Best Wishes,
