Title: Re: Is there a way to print out text messages? Post by: Hiloguy on February 09, 2013, 11:32:47 AM My phone is a Blackberry, this should work on most phones. Go to your text screen, than use select feature than hilight your text, than hit copy, than go to your email screen and compose an email than do paste. That should work on most phones and there maybe easier way but I'm not the most tech savvy person out there.

BITPIM.ORG or SMS Backup & Restore (version by Ritesh Sahu for Android) https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=181690.0 https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=137199.0 Title: Re: Is there a way to print out text messages? Post by: Lost_husband on February 09, 2013, 08:48:05 PM You can contact you cell phone provider and request a copy. If its a legal issue regarding a criminal investigation they may want a copy of the police incident number.
Hope that helps. Title: Re: Is there a way to print out text messages? Post by: livednlearned on February 11, 2013, 08:38:41 PM Throughout the course of my marriage, separation, and divorce, and now this nether world of constant legal drama, I have had a Blackberry, Android, and iPhone.
My advice to anyone leaving a BPD relationship is to get an iPhone. The back up program available for iPhones is fantastic. I can literally print out a PDF of the exact same screen where I read and send texts. Backup is seamless, easy. I know you're worried about money, sfbayjed, so understandable if that isn't an option. Money is tight for me too, so I got an older iPhone through my provider that was next to nothing, and did some wrangling so that S11 ended up with my old phone. Where there's a will, there's a way. The peace of mind being able to print those text msgs out was priceless. Android backup -- you need to do some extra steps and unless I'm missing something, you basically get the texts dumped into a spreadsheet. Blackberry, I paid $20 for a service that dumped the data, but it was a bit glitchy and I had to fiddle a lot to get the program working. Family law courts have no clue about technology. You need to make it as easy as possible for them if you want this stuff to resonate. My ex's L uses his computer for email only. The judge ... . wow. He gets people to print out emails for him, then he writes his response and someone types it and sends for him. No joke. Title: Re: Is there a way to print out text messages? Post by: Waddams on February 12, 2013, 09:37:01 AM My SO took pictures w/ her digital camera of harassing texts from her XH and then printed the pics. She also took the phone itself and was able to let the judge scroll through.

I think both require a specific app., but then if you lsoe your phone, or change phones you can pull everything up through the iCloud. This is another trivial thing that makes dealing with a BP difficult, even with an a written agreement to primarily use e-mail, ex continues to use text messaging which is more difficult to document.

Post by: ForeverDad on February 12, 2013, 02:28:02 PM My court house will hold prohibited electronic devices at the security station. You could let them secure it there and then it would be available to be fetched if the judge is willing to see/hear what's on it. Would that work for you? Just don't let it get 'lost'.
Title: Re: Is there a way to print out text messages? Post by: Allure on February 13, 2013, 09:42:28 AM Forward the text to your email. If you have blackberry, it will ask you how you want it forwarded. Select email and forward it.
The forwarded text will show the phone number, date, time and the actual message of the text. Title: Re: Is there a way to print out text messages? Post by: T. Moore on February 13, 2013, 11:55:43 AM Another great advantage of technology is to use Google Voice. It's free, you can give whoever you want to have that particular # you choose. All of my xBPD's texts go straight to my gmail account. It will record your's and theirs. It will even send voicemails and transcribe them (the transcribing doesn't work that well) but it will save the recording in your email. It has been a great tool and takes much less work on my part of doing the copy/paste/email scenario.
