I am a nonBPD that has suffered PTSD and confusion for the last 3 years and is in 6 months into recovery and I am proud to say I am in step 4 and 5, Processing and Creative Action.

I just wanted to tell you how much this board of all of your experiences are massively helping me recover and understand what this is we're in.  I feel a great amount of loving understanding and support.  I don't feel alone in this struggle.

This time last year I was just three weeks of out of the house of my BPD ex and it was tough going, we had about 5 weeks of LC and then a few months of push pull but I stayed firm that I would not go back.

This year I woke up next to the girl of my dreams and am feeling on top of the world!

Today I am focusing on all the love I have from other areas--my sweet cat, who has been with me for 19 years and who might not be much longer, my friends who still love me despite all the chaos, my family, my late father who was such a blessing and whose memory still inspires me, and love for myself.  And the affection I have for all of us fellows "soldiers" who have been through a war others cannot even imagine.   

  Happy Valentine's Day to all of you.  I'm proud of all of you and myself.  Just this week got to step 4.  Actually going out tonight to a meetup.com thing for the first time.  I'm a little nervous, as I'm afraid some of my social skills may have taken a hit, but I think I'll do fine and maybe even make some new friends.  :)

Ha, Troubled, I am too, going to an all-female meetup to enjoy the company of other women.  I hope to make some friends (and it's a great restaurant, so at least I am going to treat myself). 

Mine is mostly women ... .  there might be a couple of guys there, but I'm glad it's mostly gals. Have you been to them before? 

Happy Vday!  Have fun!  I decided I had some bday money so I went and purchased myself a new right hand ring tonight. Happy Valentine's Day to me... .  now time for wine and left over bday cake!  :)
