Title: Hi all

Hi all

I am new here and just wanted to introduce myself. I am 32 years old, from Denmark and my mom has BPD. It's always been difficult and painful but only recently I realized that she has BPD. She is not diagnosed and it's just my therapist (I have generalize anxiety and depression) who made me realize. I have finally accepted that my relationship with my mother is bad for me and I will start distancing  myself from her now. I am actually really relieved to finally having an explanation for all that pain and constant feelings me guilt and anxiety. I am just hoping to free myself quickly and to be able to make a real change in my way of dealing with her and her unhappy life.

 *welcome*

I am sure you will find many supportive people and wonderful resources here!

I am glad for you that you are accepting this realization as well as you are and are taking steps to protect yourself!  Dealing with a uBPDm certainly isn't easy (that is what brought me here, too!), but it is doable.  I found both good and hard times when I tried to separate from my mother, but overall I find myself much happier and freer to be myself.

If you haven't already found them, there are many good articles located here:

Hi marie1313marie

*welcome*

I am sorry to hear of your difficult and painful relationship with your mother. I relate to your relief at having an explanation for the BPD behaviour, for me it was like all the pieces of the puzzle came together.

It's great you are working with a therapist. Do you have the support of other family members too? Siblings to talk to?

You are in the right place here! We will help and support you in doing what you need to do.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Love Blazing Star

A wise woman told me recently that you have to make the life you love.  Good luck to you.  Mothers with problems are hard to deal with.  They are our first contacts in this world.  Perhaps knowing what is wrong, what has always been wrong, can help you.  It has helped me.
