Title: groundhogs day Post by: wowjer on March 18, 2013, 05:03:41 AM Well,
She left in August, signed over the kids so that she can party and have a new boyfriend. We were officially divorced in december and she officially gave me primary custody then. It is March and she has filed for custody. The honeymoon period with her boyfriend has ended and now she wants custody. Rewind to 2006: She left for a new guy in August and signed away custody of my daughter. Then in March, she filed for custody. I was so dumb to take her back. And now I have to go through this ALL over again. Now we have two kids. Just had to type it. Title: Re: groundhogs day Post by: catnap on March 18, 2013, 08:23:29 AM Wow.

There is no benefit to acquiescing again. Yes, she may get the court's ear to some extent. Likely the court will bend over backwards to ensure she gets every break possible. That's a risk, but generally what courts decide are less disastrous than what the disordered parent wants.
Sometimes we feel pressured by the seeming ignoring of reality by the agencies and courts. There was a thread here a few weeks ago pointing out that it may not be so much of an unwritten gender issue (mothers seeming to be preferred over fathers) as a mental health issue (unwillingness to acknowledge the problem parent's issues or enforce consequences). Title: Re: groundhogs day Post by: wowjer on March 18, 2013, 10:28:53 AM There are a lot of things that point in the direction to where there should be NO change. I had all the things listed on here, but I decided NOT to put print them on the internet.
My lawyer believes that the courts will back the idea "if its not broke, dont fix it". Concilliation is this week. One day my life might not be filled with drama. One day. |
