Title: License

She's 19 and  just passed her drivers Ed test.   Of course she believes the world owes her a car.  At least she is not at home and not asking for mine.   I just pray she has the sense to be safe

Hi 2jay,

WOw!  A milestone in every family... .  scarry too!

Have you been with her when she has driven?  Did she show caution and respect for the road?

CONGRATULATIONS to her!  At least you are looking on the bright side - not home and not asking for your car  :)

caution on the road :)   she failed the test 2 times before finally passing (went to some hick town that has a reputation for passing everyone)    Once she failed it because she ran a redlight yet blamed the driving tester in the passenger seat for that one.

Oh I am sorry but I just had to laugh at the red light blaming... .  really this has put a smile on my face today... .  my dd15 will be 16 this summer and I worry about this a lot... .  my h wants to seel our truck which is handed down from her older sister... .  I told him to hold on to it... .  I am trying to see a future where she does drive and show that kind of level of responsiblity... .

congrats to your dd... .  maybe this accomplishment will make her feel good about herself... .  try to celebrate a bit...

My son failed 5 times, the last ending up with him lying in the gutter at the test center screaming at the examiner that he'd ruined his life.

My husband was mortified. The examiner was furious and said my son needed help. (really? :))

he finally passed aged 20 on the 6th attempt at a different test center.

5 accidents and 2 tickets in one year... .

when he left, we signed his wreck of a car over to him and got him to insure himself. Apparently, he's not had an accident since he's been paying :)
