Title: Introduction
Post by: Sophie17 on March 25, 2013, 12:37:48 PM
Hello,

My mother in law (age 74) is uBPD. I first learned this term a year ago and it explained SO much.

My husband and I have worked very hard to integrate her diagnosis into our marriage (as far as how we, as a couple, interact with her and the rest of the family.) It's a challenge, but I am proud of us and our hard work.

I am currently working to get to a place of better management of this force in my life. I haven't quite gotten it to be as automatic as I'd like.

Interestingly, my mother also has many BPD traits although she is narcissistic... . and so is my ex-husband... . I sense a theme here.

Thank you all for your time and effort on this board. You have helped two complete strangers more than you know.

Best regards,

Sophie

Hi sophie.  No one is a complete stranger here.  :)  Keep reading, it has helped me enormously.  Good luck with dealing with these ladies, too.  What a hard place to be in!

 *welcome*

Welcome, Sophie17! You will find many supportive people here. The resources to read here are amazing, and it sounds like you have already found and appreciated some of them.

If you stick around and start post here, you will find even more help. It sounds like you have more than enough people with BPD issues in your life!

What problems are you having with your mother in law, and how are you and your husband coping with them?

Are you currently having difficulties with either your mother or your ex-husband as well?
