Title: Withdrawal, stress, depression and birthday
Post by: Sincere on April 06, 2013, 02:50:48 PM
Has anyone else experienced a withdrawal and depression due to stress from a BPD?  Also, someone mentioned that a birthday may put them on edge as well.  Thoughts?

Yes, in fact I am going through a withdrawl right now with my BPDbf and his 50th birthday is coming up in 2 weeks. I was expecting some withdrawl because of it, but its so hard to take. He is pushing me away and nothing I can do.

Absolutely. Withdrawal and depression tend to be how my pwBPD reacts to major stress. Poor coping skills and an inability to identify both the emotion and what led to it seem to be the primary contributors to this phenomenon. He also hates his birthday and holidays, so those add stress (though usually not enough on their own to send him into a downward spiral).
