My BPD mom's behavior is starting to "come home to roost" for many in my family. She is the "Queen/Witch" most of the time (look at my previous posts for a further analysis of the situation). The Queen's "subjects" are sick of being subjected. My brother is about to open the can of worms on her, her parents are now beginning to restrict her access to them and I've pulled away enough that she is starting to see that she can't behave badly and have anything to do with my family. Part of me wants her to be held accountable for her actions and to admit she has been doing these things, then to see her change, but I know this is a pipe dream. All that to say, things are changing and I want to know what that looked like for some of your families. My Question is this: has anyone out there had the experience in their family when they all say "enough is enough" and can't hit the "snooze" button any longer on their loved one's behavior? I cant say everybody in my family had enough. I decided to set boundaries and go NC, cause I couldnt take relatives behaving like that anymore. The reaction was painting me black, silent treatment and rude remarks indirectly sent to me. Meanwhile, others are the golden ones and they really enjoy being portrayed like that, so they created a close bond. I see more hope in your case, cause everybody has realized the problem and are behaving accordingly. Maybe your mom will realize she needs help and finally go for it. Maybe she will resent the boundaries at first and "fight back". I suggest you read more abt BPDs, theres great material in this site and helped me understand and deal better with the situation.
