Title: This board also cultivates the ability to express inside states in writing
Post by: Maryiscontrary on April 26, 2013, 02:01:10 PM
It's a lot like a creative writing class. Like a college class. Man, I realized just how bad I was at expressing myself. Really sucked, not dissen myself, but I will acknowledge that I had poor interpersonal skills. It takes a while to catalog the nuances of emotion states. Proper, well oiled  Emotional cognition gives perception of a continuous reality.

Hi Mary!  Journaling helps me a lot.  It seems like expressing yourself here is a little like journaling, so that makes sense.   :)

Dear Maryiscontrary,

I agree!  Writing helps me express myself better verbally.  I often find myself at a loss for words.  I know there is a word I want to use when I am talking with someone, but I can't conjure it up.  The more I write the easier it is for me to speak confidently with people.  The prior writing gives me a sense of how I want to explain my thoughts orally.

And then my writing is improved the more I read.  My vocabulary and how to use it develops the more I read.  Reading, writing, talking, and listening are such entwined communication skills.

I appreciate your posts.  In another post you shared how you are going to treat the interior walls of your home so they take on a sculpted appearance.  I am curious to hear how it turns out.

Warm regards.
