Title: Now he wants to talk ... Post by: MockingbirdHL on May 01, 2013, 10:13:39 PM My dBPDh has been giving me the silent treatment since late Saturday night after dropping me off at our home after returning home from our week long anniversary vacation and disappearing. Since then not a word of any kind until this afternoon. When he left he said I will talk to you later in the week. So here we are: later in the week and he is due home from work tomorrow.
I get a text "want to get together tomorrow afternoon to talk?" I said yes I would. He said ok what time. I said any time. He said 430? I said yes that's fine. He said I will be at the house at 430. I said I will be there. That's it He's making an appointment to talk to his own wife, at his own house. I'm expecting the worst and he will tell me he wants out. I hope not. I hope he wouldn't throw all this away on an unfounded suspicion. I've been trying to think of how to react tomorrow - how to suppress my urges and try to keep the situation productive: * stay calm * let him talk first * don't interrupt and try not to be on the defensive I hope he's coming into this conversation with an open mind. It's so hard to be hopeful anymore though. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Title: Re: Now he wants to talk ... Post by: Mightyhammers on May 02, 2013, 03:56:39 AM * stay calm
* let him talk first * don't interrupt and try not to be on the defensive That’s pretty much nailed it I reckon, when he has finished speaking ask him if he has finished and if he says he has then say what you have to say WITHOUT interruption |
