Title: A question of how often
Post by: catsprt on May 06, 2013, 06:32:04 AM
I have decided to overcome the challenges in the relationship with my father some time ago. And things have gone well so far. I have managed to call him less frequently in order to keep the conversations somehow interesting. Strangely, last weekend, he mentioned that I had not called him the previous week. It was just a mention, but it has kept me wondering whether I should interpretate his comment.

Does anyone have a take on this? We leave oceans apart, can be very close on some subjects and far apart on other. These phone calls are the only connection between us.

Probably not good for you to mind-read. Just call when you feel comfortable doing so.

Does he ever call you, or is this a one-sided obligation?

Wishing you peace,

PF

Honestly, I wonder if he is starting to get comfortable with your efforts, and may be beginning to try to play the fear obligation and guilt game with you.

Listen to your own inner voice, and if you are beginning to feel the FOG or a sense that you are getting sucked into a unhealthy game, take careofyourself first!
