Title: A Buddhist perspective for those trying to detach...
Post by: LetItBe on May 07, 2013, 11:16:34 AM
"Once we taste the freedom that comes with independence, it gets easier. We realize how much we have lost by desperately holding on, and we know how much there is to gain through disengaging from confusion. We can do this while expanding our most precious qualities: our good heart and our compassion for others."

I saw the above quote on the Tricycle FB page, and it really resonated with me.  It came from this article that I found helpful and thought some others here might enjoy reading, too:  www.tricycle.com/dharma-talk/old-relationships-new-possibilities

I'm feeling more detached from my ex this morning, like the ground is becoming more solid under my feet.  I still have a way to go, but I'm grateful for how I feel right now.

This is a timely reminder for me regarding my FOO.   Thank you for posting.

Thank you for sharing that perspective, NonGF. I needed that.  And it's so very true. The hardest part is taking that first step even if we feel like we take that "first step" over and over again.
