And Is a 'd' in front of any title mean diagonosed? Hi, angeldust1 Here is a link to a thread with the title "What do all these abbreviations and terms mean?" It has everything you need: https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=26601.0 The "d" before an acronym lots of times does mean "diagnosed" but sometimes people use it for "dear" as in: "dh"= dear husband... . Sometimes context tells you the answer "diagnosed BPD Husband" would most likely be "dBPDh" in some form or another. Hope this helps some Title: Re: abbreviations Post by: pessim-optimist on May 09, 2013, 09:37:49 PM yes, it is confusing.
I have noticed that people post especially for their husbands dh for 'dear husband', but technically according to the abbreviation tree it would mean 'diagnosed husband', so to avoid confusion, I either spell it out, or just write h. Same goes for dd and ds - daughter and son, but here people more often say the d for diagnosed. |
