Title: Whoops... spoke too soon
Post by: simplesimon on June 13, 2013, 07:10:35 PM
So my dad and step mom finally made it offical and tied the knot!  They went to Vegas with friends and had a simple and private ceremony.

I am bummed I didn't get to go but I am super stoked for my dad... .

Guess who isn't?   Yup BPD mother is back and RAGING to go.  She called (I don't answer unavalible or unknown numbers) left a massively long voicemail raging at me cause I support this (duh she's psycho and tried to kill my dad -  my step mom is awesome and makes him happy) and how I am evil, nasty, uncaring and some other choice words.

I didn't answer or even acknowledge that she called - then she has the BALLS to call me again about an hour later and tell me she has taken a bunch of pills and wants to just die... . so I called the cops and reported it.  Now I feel like (this makes me bad feel like a horrible person) I almost hope she succeeds in completing it this time then it's done.

I am trying to find humor but all this does is make me sad at a time that is really happy for my family.  Again it's all about mother and how SHE feels.

I guess I keep waiting for her to grow up... . silly simon it's never gonna happen.

You did the right thing calling the cops. Tantrums like that deserve a severe and immediate consequence.

Good for your dad, too!

Yup, that sounds like the pattern, how can I make this about ME? Calling te authorities was absolutely the right thing to do--that is the logical consequence to a call threatening an overdose.

I think you made a good point, this is the beginning of a new happy chapter for your Dad. That's the important thing. Maybe your mom will get a life going when she figures out that her family is not available for daily drama--or maybe not, it's up to her. No tater what, you're not to blame and not responsible for her life, she is. And, I'd say, always encourage her to o to a therapist--it's what the rest of us do when we need help with our issues, right?

calling the cops was the best thing to do, for her and for yourself.
