Hello all ,

I am joining this group as my mother is suspected of having BPD. I have been in therapy for just under a year and am coming to terms with how my life has been shaped by her. I am 35 and married for seven years. We have been trying to conceive for most of that time but I have been diagnosed with premature ovarian failure, like going into menopause but way too early, and we haven't been so lucky. I am currently also seeing a naturopath who is in fact the person that suggested that my physical problems are really emotional in nature. He suggested my wonderful psychologist and the mindfulness based stress reduction course both my husband and I took. I am glad to know this board exists and am really grateful  for the community as I think my husband needs a break from my horror stories and I need other people who "get it"

Hi Dorcas62,

*welcome*

I'm glad you found us and are in therapy. I'm sorry to hear that you feel that your fertility issues may be somehow tied to emotional issues. I know we can help with the FOO (family of origin) emotional issues. I am glad you are seeing a naturopath as well. At any rate, I'm not a fertility specialist but I've found that traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture work well sometimes for issues relating to this balance you are seeking.

Please do tell us a little more about your mother... .

Are you still in regular contact with your mother?

How about your Dad and any siblings?

What is the usual way you two interact- and what is she doing lately that is making life difficult for you?

We are here for you!

Yours,

mamachelle

Hi Dorcas62,

*welcome* Just wanted to jump in and welcome you here too! You're not alone here. Many of us (including me) have moms or other relatives with BPD. Like mamachelle said, we'd love to hear more about you and your relationship with your mom, as you get comfy here. How are you feeling now?

We do get it. There's a lot of information here. This article might be a good place to start. How a Mother with Borderline Personality Disorder Affects Her Children (https://bpdfamily.com/tools/articles8.htm)

Keep posting and sharing, and I know you'll fit right in here. Sending you lots of caring and support.
