Title: dealing with the divorce and my stbxh feels SO good...
Post by: momtara on June 19, 2013, 10:39:14 PM
when a round of it is over... .

it's like hitting your head with a hammer and then it stops for a while.

what a fantastic relief.

i'm joking, but hopefully that gave someone a laugh, or a sigh.

take a hot bath today or have a dessert you enjoy.  i hereby give you permission to stop thinking about your divorce for the next minute.   |iiii

My counselor advised me to "compartmentalize:  set aside certain times each day, to deal with each difficult issue, like legal stuff or whatever.  Then move on to other subjects.  Easier said than done - this stuff tends to consume you - but I worked at it, and it helped.

Divorce can be SO consuming... . figuring out a way to take a breath is crucial!

Just hard to set that time aside when work, kids, money, are all weighing on you as well.

Good advice!

It does kinda settle down, eventually.

Sometimes I think of N/BPDx like a mosquito. Irritating, potentially carries a life-changing disease, but for the most part just noisy and itchy.

Can't believe I'm actually at a point where I can compare him to a mosquito  :)
