Title: Rushing court... will it fly?
Post by: sanemom on June 26, 2013, 09:36:55 PM
We went to court in June to request counseling with DSD and DH to repair their relationship after the alienation.  The court ordered that DH go to three individual sessions with a counselor who is going to supervise and determine how to do the family counseling.  He has only had one session because the counselor went out of the country on vacation (the order was only entered a week ago).

Now BPD mom is wanting a final hearing on custody in early September.  Um... . haven't even started the joint counseling yet, and at this rate, he will have had maybe two sessions with DSD jointly before an early September hearing.

Doesn't it sound a bit premature to have a hearing?  I could be wrong, but it IS possible that after a few months of counseling, DSD will make it known that she wants to move back.  I would think we would at least want to try some joint counseling before getting in a final hearing... .

Apparently the lawyer CAN set the hearing whether or not we are following judge's orders.  The judge ordered mediation first, and BPD mom's lawyer is trying to skip that part.  So now we get to pay money to compel her to comply with the judge's orders... . while her lawyer works for "free."
