Title: Surviving the 4th with Dignity in Tact
Post by: Pretty Woman on July 02, 2013, 11:33:59 AM
So the next couple days is going to be hard. My ex and I were supposed to be in Chicago watching fireworks on the lake. Instead she is shacked up in a cabin in Minnesota with her ex.

I'm having a really hard time imagining her with her ex intimately. I mean, it's not hard to imagine, it's just killing me. I was finally getting an appetite back and now I am not hungry again.

I made plans with a new lady friend for the 4th. She invited me to dinner (she wants to cook for me as she says she hasn't cooked for anyone for awhile)and we are going to see the fireworks afterwards. I am trying to enjoy my summer. I am trying to get out there and not stay holed up in my house. I work so hard at my job. I just am not feeling the joy I was anticipating summer. Probably because our anniversary would have been the end of the month.

Just feeling sad today, a little dejected. Hoping to feel better.

Sorry you're feeling sad. I understand how you feel. My ex and i had summer plans and each day that comes up and i remember we arent gonna do anything together as planned really sucks. It's great that you're putting yourself out there and having dinner with your lady friend. Have fun. Keep busy. Hang in there.

Hang in there.  Me and my girl had plans to take the kids to the beach and cottage.  I made plans for concerts and amusment parks but it is all done now.  It hurts.  Like you I am trying to stay busy and find things to occupy my time.  Summer was suppose to be fun and exciting.  Now I can't wait for it to be over and go back to work!
