Title: Is this typical BPD? Post by: Jhensohn on July 24, 2013, 05:21:56 PM I remember my ex BPD telling me on the phone every night for a week all the things I had done wrong. I had been insensitive and not felt her pain, shown cold face, etc. She even said she felt sorry for the woman that would end up with me. I ask so many times if I can come visit so we can talk about everything in person. She tells me not to come she would refuse to see me.
Then two days later she calls me at 530 in the afternoon and says she is on her way to come see me. Yes it is valentines day that day. It was obvious she wanted sex and it was honestly the best I had ever had. These kinds of total abrupt changes happened all the time. She would say so often that it is so different for her when the person is not there. Is this typical? Title: Re: Is this typical BPD? Post by: cska on July 24, 2013, 05:28:56 PM Yes, in my experience, pwBPD have abrupt changes all the time. They live on a roller coaster ride. Sometimes I would talk to my girl (when were dating) and in 10 minutes she would go from loving me to hating my guts. Or one day she would love me and the next day she would be completely cold. Its very common of pwBPD in my experince, and from what I've read.
She would say so often that it is so different for her when the person is not there. pwBPD lack object constancy. Did you read the thread on object constancy that I sent you. Its very good. Title: Re: Is this typical BPD? Post by: ObiRedKenobi on July 24, 2013, 07:31:12 PM It sounds like it could be BPD or maybe not. Regardless it doesn't sound like a healthy relationship with a healthy person. My ex was similar in many ways and although she is undiagnosed I know she has A LOT of BPD traits. If someone was to say to me she isn't BPD they would have to have some serious facts to convince me otherwise.
