Title: What about the kids? Post by: worriedsis75 on August 13, 2013, 11:06:31 AM I am new to this site, but I've been browsing as a guest for a couple of weeks. My brother's wife has BPD I suspect, though undiagnosed. You can read more about her behavior on the new member board or feel free to ask me anything of course.
He has decided to try to stay with her if she promises to commit herself for a psych evaluation and get therapy. My question is this: what is this crazy situation doing to his poor kids? D8 is a compulsive liar and bully already, and it's scary. D7 is sweet as punch but has the poor me routine down to a science. I love them both and they are both loving and adorable as well as these other things. I just don't know that I think it's better to stay and help a grown woman when the kids are stuck in the middle of a very unhealthy dynamic, learning very unhealthy behaviors. I don't see much on the site about how staying in the relationship impacts the children. |
