I've read that it's a spectrum and people with personality disorders are often overlapping other disorders. My old therapist said to me that while it did sound like my mother was BPD, she also suggested some NPD too and on these boards and the internet I've noticed an overlap between these two in particular. I still think my mother fits BPD better, but yes, there's some N there too. This video really did sum up my childhood. Including, sadly, when she said that NPD people often marry other NPD people. I have to wonder how that works (wouldn't they want someone who idolized them?) but yeah, even though my father was not abusive, he still to this day acts like he thinks the world revolves around him. Thanks for sharing! I'm going to check out more of her videos when I have time. |
