Title: My introduction
Post by: BookLover on August 19, 2013, 09:15:30 PM

Hi everyone. I'm the oldest daughter of a BPD mother. I am married, for 29 years now. I'm a mother of 3 adult children, and a grandmother of the coolest 6-year-old boy!

I have a VERY distant relationship with my mother. We were estranged for about 10 years. In 2009 we came back in contact, with extremely limited interaction.

She has rage issues, goes through very manic periods with serious crashes, and manages to push me away, then accuse me of not loving her.

I stumbled upon this web-site and forum a couple of days ago, and hope to get a little help here with an upcoming trip where I'll be seeing her.

Looking forward to exploring this forum in the next few days!

 *welcome*

I think you will find lots of valuable information here for dealing with your mother (meant as a term of affection).   The [L5] Coping and Healing in a Family with a BPD Parent, Sibling, or Inlaw is most likely where you will find the most information that will resonate with you.  It does help to learn techniques and skills so that when there are problems you know what to do.  However, be kind to yourself.  It does take time to learn and master.  Some days we just don't have the patience or ability.

Thank You.

This situation goes pretty deep with her, as I'm sure you all understand. I will be exploring this site in the days to come and will for the tips for dealing with her effectively! :)
