Title: Interesting dreams
Post by: rogerroger on August 20, 2013, 09:33:40 AM
I've been having almost nightly dreams about my ex. The pattern is generally the same. It starts out with her either saying or doing something apologetic or indicative of trying to reconcile or at least get along on good terms. But then, inevitably, when I fail to fit her exact expectations somehow, it triggers one of her rages. I wake up nodding to myself and thinking, "Yup. And that's why we're where we are now."

It's like dreams work through some frustrating gunk built up, I've dreamed saying things to the ex that I wouldn't never really say to him.  All those built up things that I had to hold back and hold back, dreaming about letting it go, seems to ease all the tension around that.  Do you find yourself saying those 'forbidden' things in your dreams?

No, it's more a condensed version of our relationship, where we start out with good feelings toward each other and then she ends up screaming, threatening, or trying to blame me for everything including bad weather. I think my subconscious is reminding me of the folly of hoping things could ever get better with her (at least not without her doing some serious therapy).
