Title: boundaries and mixed emotions in post-r/s friendship
Post by: patientandclear on September 08, 2013, 03:04:31 PM
Hi L6 -- I posted this in Staying but many of those who tend to have the most insight into these dynamics seem to hang out on Personal Inventory, so I wonder if you would mind popping over and share any thoughts you have.  In a nutshell, I am struggling with how to deal with my feelings of love for my uBPDex when on the one hand he keeps saying he wants only a friendship, and may be seeing someone else now, but on the other, there's never been an explanation that makes sense for why he wouldn't re-commit to our romantic r/s, and he and I seem to be progressing (admittedly episodically, with peaks and valleys) toward a stronger, deeper connection of the sort that, in normal life, would mean wanting to spend our lives together.

It all combines to create a mental mess that I could use some help navigating.

Thanks in advance!  Here's the Staying thread:

Hi P&C, I just replied on the Staying Board before I saw you posted here, too.
