Title: BPDMom + Alzheimer's = xanax for me? Post by: Hamster on September 13, 2013, 05:08:06 AM I am not sure if I'm posting in the correct spot, so I will keep it short. I am an unemployed single adult daughter living with (and dependent upon) ugh my parents until I find a job and I have been applying for 2 years and barely receiving responses, the job market has black balled me or something. but my question is... .Alzheimer's runs on my mom's side and her mother had it, my mom is now 66 yrs old and I'm noticing she's asking me how to spell words she has always known how to spell, and she has always been forgetful and loses things, but it's like she is forgetting things differently. If that makes any sense? Would love to hear about anyone's experience with this and also if you know if anyone is hiring in the southeastern US for someone with zero experience but a college degree. :)

Sorry the job hunt has been so rough. I hope the tide will turn for you. I had a family member with Alzheimer's, so I understand why you are concerned. It is important to share those concerns with a person's physician so that they can receive appropriate evaluations. Do you ever go to checkups with your mother, or are you able to put a call in to her doctor? I understand if she has BPD that may be more than you are able to do, or she may take it as an insult. But if it sounds like something you are willing to do, you might consider it. How long have you known about her BPD? Does she have a diagnosis? How much contact do you currently have with her?
