Anyone had these administered to them in a CE?  I thought ours was going fabulously... .until today when she gave them to me.  Now I'm starting to wonder, as I thought these were more of a parlor game, a totally invalid way of testing.  I suppose if she gave them to my ex (yes, it's our 2nd evaluation, had one years ago before divorce), then perhaps she was just trying to be far and give us the same tests?  (My ex has high paranoia, if you go by the original MMPI, and by what I've witnessed now for 18 years.)

Now I'm quite worried just because of these stupid cards.  I didn't see things, apparently, like your are supposed to and kept seeing medical things (bones, vertebrae, etc.) I guess because I'm and nurse and too literal?

She has stated things to me like a batterers intervention program would not do any good for him, because "it's his personality".  (She has outright stated she will not diagnose in the report, although I flat out told her after knowing him for 18 years I know without doubt he is ASPD/NPD/PPD with strong abandonment issues, still trying to get revenge after 8 years after leaving him.)

So any reassurance that it's not (inkblot testing) important in a custody evaluation would be greatly appreciated.  And prayers that she gets it, writes a report for sole custody that will finally protect the kids from continued daily emotional abuse (and also verbal and interspersed physical).  The kids have really improved in this 9 months of not seeing their dad.

I thought the Rorscach ink blot test was like a dying artform. I did a quick internet search and found lots of criticism surrounding it. Custody Evaluations is actually one of the few places it is still used. One article stating that it can help determine who is in better control of their emotions.

I'd like to see the results of any of us in these custody disputes. It's tough work trying to stay grounded when it comes to high conflict divorces involving children.  

However, if the evaluator believes in it, she believes in it. I'm thinking it's just one "piece" of the puzzle when it comes to her determination. I would hope that it's not the single determining factor. I also think a good attorney probably could find a lot of case law that argue whether or not it is a valid way to determine the parent better equipped to retain custody.

Good point, about the attorney, Dream Girl.  That's what I want to avoid though, another, let's spend another 50K and throw this (the second evaluation) out.  I need for this to be over, kids have refused to see their dad for 9 months now, and we all need to move on.  I'll let you know when the report comes out if there is any merit to it in the report.  Meanwhile, I have lost all faith in all 'experts' of family court.  Thought this one was going to 'get it' (the first one years ago ignoring physical abuse reports by both girls), but now thinking that once again, the high functioning ASPD/NPD/PPD physician is winning by lying and being over-controlled, playing the victim.  It's sad experts do not take daily emotional abuse (and interspersed physical abuse, risky safety with kids, and stalking, yes I said stalking) seriously.  We, as a nation, are so mad about bullying at school or the workplace, yet think that kids should be held in constant and liberal visitation with their disordered abusive bully parent.  I'll never never understand that.
