Title: A poem that may help... Post by: houseofswans on October 05, 2013, 03:24:09 PM Love After Love
By Derek Walcott The time will come when, with elation you will greet yourself arriving at your own door, in your own mirror and each will smile at the other's welcome, and say, sit here. Eat. You will love again the stranger who was your self. Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life, whom you ignored for another, who knows you by heart. Take down the love letters from the bookshelf, the photographs, the desperate notes, peel your own image from the mirror. Sit. Feast on your life. Title: Re: A poem that may help... We lose ourselves... . In the relationship with a PwBPD... . Literally. Title: Re: A poem that may help... Post by: DragoN on October 05, 2013, 11:53:05 PM yes, we get lost and hammered. Enmeshed. Addicted.
Then we learn, Boundaries. Then, it changes. And it hurts like hell. Excellent poem, the tearing of the photograph from the mirror, the version the pwBPD painted of yourself and the truth that is hidden in the reflection. What does it mean to you? |
