Title: New Here Post by: Exasperated on October 18, 2013, 07:02:43 PM Hi, I am a 35 year old single female, only child of an emotionally abusive mother with BPD. I have no other family and have been very lonely my entire life. However, I was lucky enough to grow up to be very accomplished and successful and therefore very much an outlier given the circumstances I grew up under. I now have many acquaintances and a few friends I do things with occasionally, but I've never had anyone I was close with that I could really share my experiences with and frankly no one has ever really cared enough to get to know me that well. In addition to the toxic relationship with my mother I have had the misfortune of a long line of very hurtful friendship. I am desperately lonely.
I am not really a big fan of discussion boards, but I want to give this a try. I am not really here for advice getting or giving. Just a place to vent and listen and to receive and give general support, encouragement and understanding. I have been in therapy for many years and have a lot of knowledge about personality disorders, mental illness etc. I am pretty much what you would call in these colloquial circles "low contact" with my mother. As you might have noticed, there is a part about children with BPD parents :)

Exasperated Great you found us and sorry to hear that you have to deal with BPD in your life. Yes, you can share here, many members are in similar shoes like you.
