Title: UBPDex days he lost the plot
Post by: newlyhopeful on October 26, 2013, 06:28:58 PM
Received a text yesterday from ex to say he is not coping and he will "probably" get professional help. He hopes I understand but he cannot have D5 this week. A later text said he lost the plot big time and then I see on his mothers fb page that he wants to kill himself.

I expect that his GF has left and the remorse will go when she returns however I am thinking of contacting a lawyer. It sounds like his home environment has become toxic. Gf recently moved in.

Am I best trying to keep D5 away? where would I stand.

Thoughts appreciated!

Talk to your atty and have all the evidence. Threatening suicide is serious and D5 should not be exposed to this. I would want supervised visits by a professional or the courts at a minimum.

Thank goodness he has enough mental state to not visit his daughter this week! My advice in that aspect - let him know you are supportive of his decision to skip a visit. Even some verbal praise in making a decision that is best for his daughter. Anything to reinforce the behavior.

Is this an isolated incident or do you have other evidence that would show a change in stability?

What is the "plot"?
